Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion is a business simulation game developed by Chris Sawyer and published by Atari in 2004. According to Sawyer, it’s “the spiritual successor to Transport Tycoon”, a popular game he created in 1994. In Locomotion, you can use trains, trams, trucks, buses, airplanes and ships to earn money in a transport company between 1900 to 2100.
After Sawyer finished Transport Tycoon Deluxe, he started development of a sequel, Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion. However, he changed his mind in the middle of it and produced RollerCoaster Tycoon, which turned out to be a huge success. After RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 was done, he continued his work on Locomotion. On its release, it has been criticized to be less flexible than Transport Tycoon and having outdated graphics.
